Editorial Review:

Amazon.com:
Who knew Jonathan Rhys Meyers had such an aching, lovely croon? In August Rush, he supplies his own vocals in the role of an Irish indie-rock singer, and it's a testament to his skill that he doesn't embarrass himself on Van Morrison's "Moondance." (He's even better on Lucas Reynolds' "Something Inside.") This is fairly representative of this CD's flavor: thoughtful, adult but not bland--typically, you hear a lot of cello throughout. John Ondrasik, stepping out from his Five for Fighting persona, wrote new material, though the best song, "King of the Earth," is an unreleased one by his main project that boasts superb, elegant production by Bill Bottrell. Intriguingly, guitar virtuoso Kaki King is the hand double for Freddie Highmore, who plays the film's child prodigy. Her two instrumentals, "Bari Improv" and "Ritual Dance," are treats for lovers of inventive acoustic playing, who should also enjoy the self-explanatory "Dueling Guitars." John Legend sounds aching on "Someday," though the cover of "God Bless the Child," by Chris Botti and Paula Cole, feels a little lite. --Elisabeth Vincentelli

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Feel the Magic of Music
I have never been more pleased with a CD purchase in my life. At first I was worried that it might not have some of the songs that were sung by Jonathan Rhys Meyers, but I was pleased to find out that it contains the entire song not just the clips that were played in the movie. Although the music isn't mixed the same way that it is in the film all of the songs are there. I tried to multitask while listening to it and found myself sucked right into the music again. I may not have gotten the other ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - A musical score that's better than anything I've heard in years!
I just can't seem to get enough of this soundtrack! The combination of classical and rock flows with an incredible amount of clarity. The blending of so many styles and forms is genius. When I am not watching the movie, I'm listening to the soundtrack.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Awesome movie and soundtrack
Upon me and my girlfriend seeing this movie, we were touched beyond words, and moved by how much I related and connect with "August Rush". If you notice, you can hear the style from a deceased Windham Hill artist, Michael Hedges, who innovated the style you hear when the boy is playing first to the suprise of two of the characters walking in and in the park with another character. This really is very important for this movie, and shows the connection the boy has with music both universally and emotionally. ... Read More

I have already burned thru' 3 CDs of this music... I've been listening to it nearly non-stop since July 4th, 2008. Thank goodness I can make as many copies as I need!
I love the movie, and the soundtrack is just what I need while I'm driving around during work all day.
It keeps me from "going postal", ha ha ha.

Lovely music, great artists! I know this music is worth every penny!
