Editorial Review:

Album Description:
2008 debut album from the singer/songwriter. Citing her influences as diverse as Etta James, Jill Scott, Bjork, Dusty Springfield, Billy Bragg, Billie Holiday, Jeff Buckley, The Cure and Peggy Lee, Adele is a truly unique new artist. With her mix up of R&B and Soul served up with a healthy dash of feisty London attitude, she spins beautiful dark stories of loves won and lost and sometimes just daydreamed about. 12 tracks. XL.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Addictive
This is my new favorite CD. And not only mine, but people in my office have highjacked it as well. People who's musical tastes are completely different to mine love this CD. Can't wait for the next one.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Hometown Glory
Possessing perhaps one of the most gorgeous voices to come out of popular music in recent times, Adele is full of soul and (perhaps most importantly) heart. If you want a change from the Britneys, Kellys, even Beyonces and Rhiannas, do yourself a favor and give this profoundly talented songstress a good long listening to. Her music may lack the synthetic pop polish of most female artists these days but I do not find that to be a flaw in even the smallest way.

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Adele Is Even Better In Person
I first saw Adele when she made her appearance on Saturday Night LIve and I, literally, stopped ehat I was doing and listened to her voice with my mouth agape. Her vocal style is absolutely flawless...and she was actually singing (not lip synching). The next day, I bought the album 19 and was, once again, floored with the amazing tone of her voice and how all of her songs would simultaneously get stuck in my head. I found a few live performances including a Live Video she shot for "Melt My Heart ... Read More

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Very Talented....
I was thrilled to fine Adele. She's very talented and the more I listen to this CD the more I like it. She writes the songs, plays instruments and has lived the life she's singing about. I really like that she appreciates her chances at stardom and works hard. Anyone that compares her to Whiny Crackhouse is deaf. And what a huge insult to Adele. I'm a big fan Adele!

Rating: 5 out of 5 stars - Blows Amy Winehouse and Duffy out of the water!
I am a huge fan of all 3 and have all of the albums. It is not fair to compare them as we all have. But for me Adele's 19 has the most to offer. I absolutely love 2 songs on both of Duffy and Winehouse's albums. I cant get enough of 7 out of the 12 songs on the album. She is also much more enjoyable on stage than the other two as well. I look forward to hearing more!
I would like it if all 3 would be a little more upbeat. It must be a Brit thing. Between Duffy, Winehouse, Adele and Imogen Heap ... Read More
